CALLED OR CHOSEN? (2)

In Deuteronomy 7:6, YHWH identifies the nation of Israel as His treasured and chosen people. The Messiah was to come out from them. They were indeed God's own people. Now by the coming of the Messiah to die on the cross for mankind, all who would believe in Him and receive this new birth become joint heirs with Him-Christ. We are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession. (1 Pet. 2:9) Indeed "many are called, but few are chosen." The Lord has invited and called a lot of people, but only a few may respond. And they are the CHOSEN. Every born again christian has been chosen for that matter. Therefore anyone who does not accept this truth may live and do things anyhow, as he or she feels is right. But we who know that we are a peculiar people and chosen for a purpose, will want to live right and work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
