"Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name." (Heb. 13:15,NLT) When you honour God's name through your sacrifice of praise, it shows there is a covenant relationship. Praise is a sacrifice that must come from a grateful heart. "Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. You don't want burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit..." (Ps. 51:15-17,NLT) Most times what we think is a sacrifice may not be so in the eyes of God. Just like Cain and Abel, many sacrifices are rejected because they are not from the heart. And God sees the heart more than what is being offered. Praise that comes from a heart of gratitude is the sacrifice God accepts. What makes praises a sacrifice is when you don't feel like doing it but you still let it out, by killing every sense of pride. It may be hard for some people.
